Cairo_ Hayel Saeed Anam & Co. (HSA Group) has launched its AI Agents Initiative, marking a new phase in the Group’s strategic transformation journey in collaboration with Microsoft and Reliance, the project’s implementation partner.

The initiative forms a key part of the third phase of HSA Group’s Strategic Transformation Programme for 2026–2030, delivered under the theme “Innovate to Grow.”

It is designed to accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence across the Group’s businesses and operations by enabling employees to identify opportunities, develop ideas and create AI-powered agents and applications that address day-to-day business needs.

Through the initiative, HSA Group aims to improve efficiency, enhance productivity and accelerate innovation, while making AI an integral part of its operating model and organisational culture.

The programme aims to support the development of more than 100 AI agents across the Group’s companies and functions. Participating employees will receive specialist training, technical guidance and implementation support in collaboration with Microsoft and Reliance.

The virtual launch event brought together more than 1,100 employees from across HSA Group companies, alongside Group leaders and representatives from Microsoft and Reliance.

Speaking at the launch, Nabil Hayel Saeed Anam, Chairman and Managing Director of HSA Group – Yemen Region, said the Group views artificial intelligence as an opportunity to advance ways of working and empower people, rather than simply adopt new technologies.

He said: “Our ambition goes beyond adopting artificial intelligence. It is about enabling every employee to develop solutions that strengthen our businesses and support our growth.”

He added that meaningful innovation begins with employees, who are closest to the needs, challenges and opportunities within the business.

Promising ideas, he noted, are not defined by technical expertise alone, but by the ability to think differently, understand operational needs and turn challenges into opportunities.

HSA Group will support high-potential ideas and help translate them into practical applications and projects that improve performance and create value across its businesses.

The Group’s ambition is to reach a stage where employees across every company, factory and function are able to develop AI agents that respond directly to their operational needs. This approach will help embed innovation more deeply across the organisation and strengthen its readiness for future business requirements.

Employees during the initiative's virtual launching

Explaining the implementation approach, Mohammed Khalifa, Chief Information Officer for HSA Group – Yemen Region, said employees would receive the training and technical support needed to develop their ideas and turn them into deployable solutions.

He said the initiative would focus on practical applications grounded in genuine business requirements, with the aim of delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, productivity and decision-making.

He added that the strong participation in the launch reflects employees’ readiness to contribute to this next phase of the Group’s transformation, noting that their active involvement will be central to the initiative’s success.

Kethan Barbo, representing Microsoft, said artificial intelligence should be viewed as a means of empowering people and extending their capabilities, rather than replacing them.

He noted that organisations are best placed to generate meaningful business value when they invest in their people and enable them to apply emerging technologies to real operational challenges.

He also welcomed the progress HSA Group has made through its digital transformation journey and its continued investment in employee capabilities and institutional development.

The initiative builds on HSA Group’s strategic transformation journey, which began in 2019 and has included the development of its digital infrastructure, the modernisation of enterprise systems and the establishment of partnerships with global technology companies, including Microsoft and SAP.

It also reflects the Group’s continued investment in strengthening the digital capabilities of its people. Most recently, HSA Group’s Human Resources Information Systems team in Yemen earned 14 SAP SuccessFactors eXpert accreditations, recognising the team’s specialist expertise and readiness to advance digital HR practices.

Through this initiative, HSA Group is positioning artificial intelligence as a core enabler of its future strategy—not as a standalone technology project, but as a practical means of empowering people, advancing innovation, improving productivity and building a more agile and competitive organisation.
