We uphold the legacy of our founders through the strength of our values, our actions and contributions to communities.

At HSA Yemen, we have always believed in doing well by doing good. Our values prize and reward compassion, care for others and a community-minded spirit. These values are incorporated into all aspects of our business from talent development to responsible business practices, from innovative products to community projects.

Enhancing food security
Delivering food assistance with 700,000+ emergency food baskets
HSA Yemen has significantly contributed to the fight against hunger all across Yemen. We have delivered food assistance to households in 22 governorates, focusing our efforts on those most in need, to help them feed their families. Over the past five years, we have distributed over 700,000 emergency food baskets and worked in partnership with the Nobel prize-winning World Food Programme to support nutrition in communities across our home market of Yemen.

Supporting entrepreneurs
Catalysing 30,000 entrepreneurial projects
HSA Yemen has demonstrated resilience in the face of adversity throughout its history. To help the communities we serve to become more resilient, HSA Yemen has established a loan programme that helps vulnerable Yemenis to start their own businesses, enabling them to overcome economic difficulties and empowering them to become self-sufficient. With additional support from the education centres we have established across the country we are empowering people with necessary skills needed to succeed in their projects, our loan programme has catalysed the launch of over 30,000 projects, creating value across the economy and supporting the livelihoods of thousands.

Building a healthcare system for the future
Improving healthcare for 3.1 million patients
Many communities in Yemen lack basic healthcare services. In recent years, HSA Yemen has worked hard to enhance access to the health services that so many Yemenis would normally be unable to access. We currently operate the largest private sector healthcare programmes in Yemen and the region, through our provision of essential medicines, equipment and funding operating expenses for medical facilities across the country. In the last 6 years we have funded operating expenses to the amount of $10 million, reaching over 3.1 million patients, as well as constructing 63 health centres in urban and rural areas. We are proud to be investing in a better future for generations of Yemenis by ensuring that more and more of them have access to healthcare services every year.

Paving the road to self-sufficiency
Driving self-sufficiency by teaching new skills
Famine has been a reality for many in Yemen in recent times. Many food crops have been removed due to economic concerns and the nation's self-sufficiency has suffered accordingly with nearly 80% in need of humanitarian aid. To help build resilience and sustainable production in Yemen, we have established education centers in urban and rural areas that provide guidance and training, guidance and advisory service to citizens on sustainable ways to manage agriculture and food production. With these new skills, communities across the country not only generate income to support themselves but to provide better opportunities for rising generations too.

Unlocking Yemen's potential
Expanding access to education with 3,000 university scholarships
With 60% of Yemen's population under the age of 25, the country's education system is extremely important. Throughout our 85-year history, we have made it a priority to support the Yemeni education system and empower generations of Yemenis with improved access to education. HSA Yemen has worked to build or restore schools in villages across Yemen that have historically lacked educational facilities. Through these efforts, nearly 1,000 schools have been built or renovated, as well as 90 vocational training centres and colleges and 30 educational compounds, from which many communities have benefited. We also recognise the importance of university education and the opportunities that higher study brings. To help all those who wish to study at university to do so, regardless of means, we have provided over 3,000 scholarships to Yemenis, supporting the development of the rising generations of Yemen's leaders.
